[Zelda: Windmill]

I love it!

I love it! The guitar is very nice throughout, and though it is a bit repetitive, it doesn't get too boring thanks to the various other instrumental sections. The pan flute part was probably my favorite of all, and sounded of good quiality.

I felt the strings, while not bad at all, could have used a little more work. Maybe a slightly higher ammount of reverb, or just a better sample in general, I feel it could in someway be improved.

Very nice job, and a great take on a classic video game theme!

Adventurous

Very cool indeed! I like the adventurous feeling it presents, it makes me feel like actually getting around to composing something myself for once in a great while!

I like the harp and chords a lot, and the vocals and strings are kind of cool. That bell at the beginning is kind of nice too. Your samples just aren't satisfying though. I'm not sure whether or note I like the vocal sample...I guess it's not too bad.

I liek it a lot though! Personally, I don't think it fits with the title though. :/

Weird...

Wow, this is the weirdest song I've heard today. Well, you certainly get all ten points for originality. At first the song was just plain strange. The weird morphing and detuning and such was just kind of odd. I can imagine some kind of story going along with this...What that story is though? I have no clue. :P

A lot of variety in there too. I thought that the comical effects were excelent! As the previous reviewer said, the bag-pipe section was very uplifting. The part with the strings was very simple, and...Ominous at first, but it then shifted gears again.

Well, this isn't exactly my kind of music, but I found it entertaining in the least. Great job with the effects, diversity and originality! :)

Thanks! Good thing my efforts were a success! It is a bit hard to undertand, yet I'll give you the story to save time. I was at a yard sale.. and I happened to come across an old picture player maybe.. mid 1920's or so. Anyways, I bought it for 5 bucks (A good deal, I have you know!) and I took it home with me. Now then.. the music starts when I enter my home and try to hook it up, whilst doing so, I'm crashing into everything.. tumbling and trying to hook this ancient thing up. At last, I manage to get it running.. and press the button.. Huzzah! It plays! But.. oh no!!! Ah well, a minor tune up on it.. Then, the unspeakable happens. Since I seen something unspeakable, I will not say it. Yet, working through the late nights, fixing and repairing.. a montage with the trumpets and strings. And finnaly, it is fixed.

How do you get your music to sound sooo good without even using VST's? I've got to get me some of those soundfonts...

Anyways, I think that this piece is very well done. I especially like the strings throughout, and the bells are nice too! The harp used, though very subtle at times, added a very nice dimension to the song. As always, excellent job with the orchestration!

I love how varried it is as well. The beginning is very dark and brooding, whereas other parts are much more dramatic, ominous, upbeat and, well...Escapish, lol! Very nice job in that department.

I think it is pretty original for the most part as well, though progression in the beginning section does sound slightly familiar. Only to a slight extent though.

Oh, and maybe it's just my speakers (Once again) but some of the louder parts of the song seem to create a bit of crackling and distortion.

Very well done, I can tell that a lot of effort has been put into this. :)

I really wanted this song to sound like a grand escape from a prison, so I incorporated a lot of different elements into the song as I went. :D (A good 90% of the time, I don't know what I am going to write...it just comes out of nowhere! :D)

Anyways, sometimes the chords will sound the same from other things. Even in a different key, there are a little over 14 different chord combinations you can make in each key, not including the minor chords. XD

Your speakers crackling? XD That's due to the mastering on my part. I'm working on getting better at that, I promise. :)

Do I hear Mr. Mitsuda?

The arpeggiated (?) piano chords that are present throughout the song strongly resemble the opening of Chrono Trigger. (Composed by Yasunori Mitsuda) This piece does have some originality to it though, so I didn't knock down the score much.

That aside, this is a very nice piece of music! It almost has an asian flavor to it IMO, and I thought the repeating piano part gave this song a very solid framework. I found the ending a bit to abrupt though. Also, I'm not sure if it is just my speakers, but at points when the volume really built it became a little fuzzy/distorted, but only a little bit.

By the way, I really admire your ability to blend so many instruments together and make it mesh so well! As many times as I've tried to write music for even a small orchestra, never once have I succesfully pulled it off. I have a really difficult time piecing together various instruments and balancing them.

Great job! 9/10

Anywho, I wanted this song to loop, but in order for me to do that, it must be longer. XD But, however, I just didn't feel like developing the song any longer than I had to. :P

I did use some asian sounding chord progressions throughout the piece, but I didn't rely to heavily on it. I wanted this piece to have a sence of foreign fantasy, but not so much as to say it was a style of an asian country. :) Yes, there is distortion, but that is due to the bad mastering on my part and some of the unclearness of the soundfonts.

Thank you! ^_^ What I love about classical/orchestral music is how every part blends together to make a whole wall of beautiful sound. I love making every part fit into a greater whole. With a little practice and determiniation, I'm sure you will be able to master this ability. :)

[Dreams of Home--A Lullaby]

Beautiful

Do I sense a hint of Tifa's Theme (FFVII) in there? The first two chords are very reminiscent of it.

This song is absolutely beautiful. It is very expressive, artistic, and full of musical color. I love the chord progression and the instrumental choice. The only gripe I have is on the mastering. I can't put my finger on it, but something is bothering me. Perhaps it is the volume levels of some instruments in relation to the piece as a whole.

Excellent job, I really do love this song. I can't wait to hear your music once you are able to afford the Garritan Personal Orchestra!

PS. I knocked down the originality score because of what I said in the first sentence. It is vaguely similar, yet it also has its own original sound to it.

Anywho, sometimes songs can sound similar to each other in the beginning. One time in concert band, we were playing this piece, and it was a P5 interval (perfect 5th), the same interval that Star Wars starts on. The song was a totally different melody, but it just started the same. It still was it's own original piece, however. :P

As I have stated before, I just haven't mastered mastering yet. ;) I'm working to alieve that problem. :)
