Awesome

I really liked it! The drums contributed a lot to the feel, and really drove it (even though they were simple). I would love to hear it lengthened though, as it just feels unfinished. At that end note, you could have broken off into something different before going back into the original theme, for instance. Aside from that, the string samples were low quality, but we can't all afford expensive libraries, right? (I can't :P)

Great job! 8/10 (5/5)

Jessismith responds:

Thank you so much! I agree that it's unfinished. I had actually made an intro and a finish for it, but sadly I just can't record them at the moment because I'm lacking the equipment. But one day I'll complete it....hopefully, and I'll make it better than it is now.

Simple, but nice

I enjoyed the simplicity of the song. The piano wasn't a horrible sample, and the strings were alright too. The melody was nice and enjoyable.

I would love to hear more dynamics, though. I didn't ever hear a change dynamically, which made it sound a bit stagnant and mechanical. Also, the left hand chords got a little repetitive after a while. Tweak the dynamics, maybe give a short section to break away and add variety, and you've got a very nice song. That's about all the suggestions I can give.

Good job, and keep it up. :)

Dug would be proud

It certainly is a beautiful progression, and I the chord progression is befitting. The only gripes I had would be that there was little dynamic contrast, and that the left hand part was a little monotonous. The ending was also cliche IMO, but that's no big. :P

In any case, job well done, and keep it up. I'm sure Dug would be proud.

It would sound a lot better if not midi...

I can tell it's not random. I hear the blues scales, and you've got the 12 bar form down. Some of the notes do start do get really dissonant and muddy though, but its improv. The ending especially sounded clashing.

This isn't the best blues I've heard, but it does not deserve a lowly .89 rating. O_O

6/10

I could dance to this!

I liked the piano at the beginning quite a bit, and the chord progression was catchy. Some of the synths were annoying though, such as the ones right after the piano part. The only real problem I had was that it didn't have enough variety. Though you changed the instruments, the progression and melody was the same throughout. It would have been nice if every so often you broke off into some new chords or something.

Nice job over all! My little brother came into the room and said it made him want to dance, so you did something right. :P

Relaxing, but unoriginal

It was relaxing and enjoyable, but nothing that really struck me as great. You've got great technique and skill at the piano, but the song doesn't exactly boast originality. The chord progression was fairly common, and the piece mostly consisted of arpeggios. I would have liked a stronger melody and something more than arpeggios, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It was soothing, but not memorable.

Soothing

You haven't put many songs up lately. I was wondering if you were ever going to post any more music!

This song is beautiful in its simplicity. Very soothing melody, and a great music box sample! Is that a soundfont? If so, where did you find it?

Nice job, 5/5

Nice

I don't listen to much techno, so I can't give much advice. The only thing was that it could have used a bit more variety. It sounded like some of it was just cut and paste. I really did like it though. The cymbal was pretty cool, and I liked the dynamics.

Keep it up!

Darthfett responds:

Yeah, I'm getting a bit annoyed at the song as well. I guess I didn't realize I had put so many bars in a row of the same stuff before I submitted it. I get anxious to see what people think, and then submit songs too quickly a lot of the time = /

Thanks for the Review!

Beautiful, but feels unfinished

This is a beautiful piece, and it makes me increasingly excited for Quest of Eve! I love the strings, and the vocals work well together. The males voice was slightly off-sounding at times.

I don't feel like it's complete, though. I was waiting for it to build up and then reach a climax, but it really never happened.More rythmic movement would have been nice in the strings, and I can imagine a percussion track as well. I would also love to hear the vocalists sing together, and piano would be awesome.

I'll stop telling you how I would write it, though, this is your music. :-P
Great job!

Wow!

I'm really impressed with this! The sound quality is really high, and you've got a lot of fun, original material going here. It love some of the guitar riffs, and you've got some nice harmonic work. The percussion and synths are great, and everything fits together pretty seamlessly. I haven't really listened to much easy listening, so I can't really pick out anything wrong with it. very relaxing and fun to listen to. Especially the bass guitar pattern. (It's repetitive, but fun to listen to!)

Great job! This is an impressive improvement over "A song by a boy". BTW, what samples do you use, or is the guitar recorded?

wisthekiller responds:

for the a song by a boy its recorded, and for this its magix
