Old Mario Bros 2 I second PoisonHeart. This looks really fun!
The hills in the background have dark ovals. Are those supposed to be cloud shadows? If so, I can't really tell. Also, the grass looks a bit too patterned and thus unnatural. I love the Mario variations though. Especially the mage and ice(?) versions!
